In-Sync with Martin Burcombe: The Designated Dev We Needed

Q: Congrats, Martin, not just on your #BECIO award win, but for your recent promotion - so well deserved! Since becoming a ninja, you've hit the ground running and have made such an incredible impact that's felt by all. 

In having such an important role that's integral to both the development and enhancement of Wise-Sync and Wise-Pay while being an absolute go-getter, can you share with us where your ambition comes from? And what your position on the team means to you? 

Martin: Thanks Wise-Sync, it always surprises me whenever I receive recognition... mostly because I consider it as just doing my job - and there are so many other super stars within Wise-Sync that are deserving of that recognition...

...I love working as part of a small and dedicated team, and I'm lucky enough to have found this within the PEN (Product and Engineering) team of Wise-Sync. I'd always wanted to be a developer, and of all the jobs I have done in that role, this role right here at Wise-Sync, is by far the best! Like many other DEVs, I also have that fear that I'm not good enough (we call it 'Imposter Syndrome' in the Dev community... it's a real thing!) and this award, helps me to push myself to be the best I can be - and that's often beyond my comfort zone. 

Along with that, I really don't like to let people down; people within my team, our company, our partners, and so on, so if I see things aren't running quite right - whether that's the system or a process, I'm always keen to get things fixed and running more smoothly.
